M/S Maritime Museum of Denmark

M/S Maritime Museum of Denmark

If you cannot spot M/S Maritime Museum of Denmark, you are not the only one. The prize winning, iconic museum, which is designed by the world renowned, Danish architect Bjarke Ingels, lies below the surface of the earth.

Since the opening in 2013, the M/S Maritime Museum of Denmark has been one of the most publicized museums both nationally and internationally. The museum is positioned around the old dry dock of Elsinore’s Shipyard (Helsingør Skibsværft) and has thus been preserved as a historical monument of industrialism.

You find numerous exhibitions which present Denmark as one of the world’s leading seafaring nations in the past and the present. The great maritime collections of the museum are told through evocative and dramatic exhibitions with film, interactive games and personal narratives. Here, you can watch, listen and actively experience the maritime world yourself.
