Tuna Safari stay

The tuna is jumping – join us on a tuna safari with ‘Havstrygeren’ ! 

In collaboration with ‘SPAR Lystfiskeri’, as something completely new, you can join Hotel Hamlet on a tuna safari and have the opportunity to see the great North Atlantic tuna jump on Øresund. 

The combination of strict restrictions on commercial fishing of the tuna and the large quantities of herring and mackerel, means that the tuna has returned to Øresund – and the tuna population is thriving. The presence of the tuna’s favorite food and the topography of the sea, creates a great hunting ground and therefore an ideal basis for living.

We can never guarantee that we get to see the tuna jump, but we can promise a cozy trip on Øresund, with the possibility of observing porpoise, great company and a great story of how the tuna has returned to Øresund. Begin your stay with an exciting tuna safari on Øresund, followed by a delicious 3-course dinner at Restaurant Amici Miei. After you spend the night in one of our lovely rooms, you wake up to a great breakfast in the restaurant.

  • Tuna safari with SPAR Lystfiskeri at 16.00h (departure from Havnegade – the duration of the trip is app. 1.5 hours)

What you need to know:

Havstrygeren will sail in almost any kind of weather.                                                                                                        

Please remember to dress according to the weather – i.e. wind- and water resistant clothing and footwear that is not too loose. Even on a hot summer day, the wind can feel ice cold out at sea. 

Restroom is to be found on board and of course life jackets.

During the sailing trip, you can enjoy the snack basket from Hotel Hamlet and furthermore a selection of refreshments will be sold from the galley if you please.
